Resourcing the Arab World
Recent research (Synovate, 2008) indicated that many people in the Arab World would purchase more books if they were more affordable, and if they had access to a wider selection of books that are of interest to them. Most Arabic language books are sold in bookstores operated by the publisher.
Research by Kotobarabia (2005) indicates that 80% of books are distributed within 5 kilometers of the publishing house. This means that most readers have access to a very limited number of titles in Arabic.
The mission of Dar Manhal Al Hayat (DMAH) is to resource the Arab World with Christian and educational resources in the Arabic language; striving to make them both accessible and affordable to the larger public.
